The Institute for Democratic Education and Culture (IDEC) is a national network of over 200 progressive scholars, artists and cultural activists including much celebrated literary figures, visual artists, performers, filmmakers, musicians, and multidisciplinary scholars who represent the breadth of cultural and social movements, thought and artistic expression.
Through IDEC, the members work to engage and inspire young people to creatively bring about positive social change. IDEC encourages critical and imaginative thinking about domestic and international issues through artistic and educational forums. IDEC also aims to provide a supportive community for political, social and artistic exploration, expression, dissemination and action for our network members.
